The Alma Dal Co Foundation and its scientific network provided financial support for early career researchers to attend the Lecture and spend one week at Harvard. They had the opportunity to visit the research facilities at Harvard and MIT and meet different research groups.
August, 2024, Cape Town, ISME Alma Dal Co Early Career Award
In August 2024, the first ISME Alma Dal Co Early Career Award will take place at ISME19 – the 19th International Symposium on Microbial Ecology in Cape Town, South Africa, from 18 to 23 August.
The Foundation Alma Dal Co and ISME have agreed to commemorate the life and work of Alma Dal Co by renaming the ISME Early Career Award to the Alma Dal Co Award. This award recognises researchers with a maximum of ten years post PhD and aims to honor Alma Dal Co contributions to the field of microbial ecology, preserve her intellectual heritage, and inspire early career researchers to pursue groundbreaking research.
ISME is a non-profit association in Microbial Ecology and promotes Microbial Ecology in all aspects. ISME connects, sponsors and organizes events and is the owner of two scientific journals: The ISME Journal and ISME Communications.
